As I prepare to gear up for another semester at the University of Central Florida, I am ready to take on the challenges that lie ahead of me. It’s going to be another slammed, jammed, crammed semester! With this comes some unfortunate blog news. My ability to write blogs will be a little bit less of a priority. I will do my best to keep everyone updated with new details about my journey, assuming someone has been staying abreast of all that has been going on. (^_^)
Speaking of updates! I have a few that I would like to share! On the campaign front, my new total contributions has gone up to $1,345! Every dollar is a mile towards my journey and I can honestly say that even that amount is unbelievable!
In other news, the local magazine here in central Florida which covers many events pertaining to local Asian communities and culture, called Asia Trend, will be running a story in this month’s issue. I am super tickled that I was even approached by the magazine! Even though I have known the editors and owners for many years, I was still taken back by their own willingness to support my endeavor the best way they know how. Their magazine has grown substantially over the last ten years. They now service locations in Tampa, FL as well! Once the magazine issue becomes available, I will be sure to post the URL right here for everyone to take a look. If you would like to know more about Asia Trend, please make sure you visit their website @ www.asiatrend.org today!
I have been contemplating a lot over the last month or so, on how I can REALLY let the individuals who have supported my campaign know how much their contributions are appreciated. I mean, sending them a digital ‘Thank You’ is great and all, but I feel that there could be a much more robust way of showing my gratitude. One way I have thought of showing them this gratitude is by making video blogs (vlogs) while I am in Japan to document what it is I am doing and how much I am learning. These videos would be private to those individuals only, and I would do my very best to make them as personal as possible. I guess you can say it would be the best way to express how much I appreciate their support without actually being there in person.
I was also considering creating a gift of some kind. I like to think of myself as somewhat artistic and would love to make something from hand and send it to them. However, realistically with my schedule, it would take me next to an eternity to make this happen.
So, I am reaching out to you. Yes you. Don’t look around like I might be talking to someone else. (^_^)
What would you do? I would absolutely love to hear your ideas! :D
Lastly, speaking of video blogs; even though I will be making personalized videos for the individuals who have contributed to my campaign, I have also decided that I will start making public video blogs with ideas and updates as they happen. This way, those people who are wanting to keep up with the details of my journey can do so by watching a short video instead of reading a long blog. But, for now…the blog must suffice.
Anyway, that is all today for this short & sweet entry. More to come! Hope everyone has a great rest of their week and an even better weekend!
Yesterday was good, today was fun, and tomorrow will be a better one!
